Passing of Val Howells

It is with great sadness that I let you know that Val Howell has passed away suddenly today. Val played for Merthyr West End and Guest Memorial and was a founder member of Pen Y Glyn County and a past President of South Wales & Mon County. She won many trophies at Club, County, Welsh and World level and represented Wales as an international on many occasions. Val became Team Manager and lead the team to medals at Commonwealth Games, World Championships and Atlantic Championships. A true ambassador for bowls and the Welsh Women's Bowling Association, a supporter and friend to many and who will be very much missed. Our thoughts go out to her husband Martin and family at this sad time.
