Merit Table 2019/2020 - At the Management Meeting held on the 24th September 2020 it was decided that the 2019-2020 Merit league would be cancelled and there would be no winner.


Due to the current CV19 restrictions, the WIBA Management Committee has reluctantly decided to cancel all WIBA Competitions and Tournaments until January 2021 when the situation will be reviewed. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Over 60 Fours. The Closing date for the over 60 fours T.B.A


Officers of the WIBA are working with clubs to ascertain when they will be re-opening for the 2020/21 season.  Once this information has been confirmed, the Competition and League Secretaries will be putting forward a Draft Calendar of Events at the Management Committee Meeting scheduled for 24th September.

It is envisaged that Championship Matches will be held from January to April alongside the KO Cup and Competitions. To assist the WIBA with its arrangement’s clubs are actively encouraged to hold their competitions as normal.

Further details will be sent to clubs once they have been confirmed.


Flintshire IBC will not be participating in the WIBA leagues or competitions, due to Covid 19, the Bowls Hall is being utilised as a temporary gymnasium.


Bowls Wales met with all the National Governing Bodies for bowls on 20th July to agree a way forward for the administration and organisation of the sport in Wales. In a positive meeting it was unanimously agreed to establish a working group with equal representation from Bowls Wales and the National Governing Bodies to explore potential amendments to the Articles of Association, prior to recruiting for the vacant Director posts at Bowls Wales.

The National Governing Bodies (NGB’s) have for several months been in discussions with both Sport Wales and Bowls Wales who are the co-ordinating body for the sport of bowls in Wales, to resolve differences that exist between us.


These discussions between the NGB’s and the co-ordinating body Bowls Wales are on going and we are hopeful that a resolution will be found in the coming weeks.


We will keep you, our Members updated at regular intervals of the progress being made. Should you require further information please do not hesitate to contact your National Secretary who will be pleased to provide you with the necessary information.

Merit League:- Pontardawe has joined the Merit League.

O60 Championship - Cynon Valley are no longer in the O60 Team Championship


Following the advice given by the Prime Minister and Chief Medical Officer, the Welsh Indoor Bowling Association is cancelling all events with immediate effect. All outstanding tournaments will be completed at the start of the 2020/21 season. Barrie Bellamy - Secretary.

WIBA  League Games. All games must be played (No Cancellations) at the designated times. Only exception is due to inclement weather Or extenuating circumstance (This will be up to the Fixture Secretaries discretion). All results must be relayed to Neil Jones by e-mail or telephone within 48hrs of the game being completed. Clubs may be fined £20 for non-compliance. Prompt relay of results enables leagues to be brought up to date much earlier.
